What is Love Culture?


Love Culture is an online community where you can make friends and share your views about art and culture. This is delivered through an online software application that can be easily accessed from many different cultural organisations websites.

What does Culture mean?


For our purposes the arts collectively which would include artefacts held in museums. The more traditional view of culture is defined by the knowledge and enlightenment acquired through education and exposure to the arts.

Plus we most often use the word culture to describe groups of people with shared beliefs, practices and attitudes.

Why is Culture important to us?


Culture is probably the most essential requirement for a healthy and balanced society. It is not a static thing. We define it, it defines who we are.

Who / what are Members?


Love Culture members are made up of arts & cultural organisations primarily in the North West of England during the first phase of development, but can include cultural organisations based anywhere.

Who / what are Users (audience) ?


Love Culture users are drawn from existing and new arts and cultural audiences as a vibrant interactive community of participants.

Is it all free?


For all users Love Culture is entirely free. It's quick and easy to register and to participate.

We are proposing a freemium service to Love Culture members. This means that we will offer a free to sign up membership with some premium services that will be offered with a monthly fee.

What can I do as a user?


We have created Love Culture for people who like the arts, people like you.

The more you use it and share it the more exciting it will be.

Love Culture will inspire you to try new things, see things differently and expand your horizons.

You can find out about cultural and arts events, exhibitions, projects and opportunities.

You can comment on, discuss and rate these to help others.

You can make friends and form fan groups.

How does it work?


If you see the Love Culture heart icon on the pages of a website then this websites organisation will be a member of Love Culture.

By clicking on the Love Culture heart icon on any page a pop up box will appear with information logged with Love Culture relating to that organisation such as number of fans.

If you continue to the main Love Culture interface you can read what people are talking about. You may be asked to log in or register If you want to join in the debate then you have to register first.

As a user do I need to register?


No, much of the content can be viewed without registering.

Then why register?


By registering you will be joining and participating in the Love Culture community where you can discuss, comment, review, become a fan and make friends with other people like you.

Love Culture will remember who you are so next time you visit any member website you will not need to log in again.

More functionality than Facebook or Twitter, this is social networking for people who love culture.

But I am already a Facebook / Twitter member


Whilst we share your enthusiasm for social networking we do not believe that these sites are offering the cultural community what they need. We are working to develop as much integration between Facebook, Twitter and Love Culture to make this easier in the future.
